NEW YORK TIMES, USA TODAY, AND #1 WALL STREET JOURNAL BESTSELLER – Forget hustling. This book, from the author of The Code of the Extraordinary Mind, will disrupt your deeply held beliefs about work, success, and, indeed, life.
If you’re the average person in the developed world, you spend 70 percent of your waking hours at work. And if you’re the average person, you’re miserable for most of those hours. This is simply not an acceptable state of affairs for your one shot at life. No matter your station, you possess incredible unique powers. It’s a modern myth that hard work and hustle are the paths to success. Inside you is a soul. And once you unleash it fully into the domain of work, magic happens. Awakening the Buddha and the Badass inside you is a process that will disrupt the way you work altogether. You’ll gain access to tools that bend the very rules of reality.
– The Buddha is the archetype of the spiritual master. The person who can live in this world but also move with an ease, grace, and flow that comes from inner awareness and alignment.
– The Badass is the archetype of the changemaker. This is the person who is out there creating change, building, coding, writing, inventing, leading. The badass represents the benevolent disruptor–the person challenging the norms so we can be better as a species.
Once you integrate the skill sets of both archetypes, you will experience life at a different level from most people. You will operate from a space of bliss, ease, inspiration, and abundance. The Buddha and the Badass: The Secret Spiritual Art of Succeeding at Work will show you how. Author of the New York Times bestseller The Code of the Extraordinary Mind and founder of Mindvalley, Vishen Lakhiani has turned his own life and company into his research lab. He’s codified everything he’s learned into the how-to steps in this book. The Buddha and the Badass teaches you how to master your work and your life.

Avevo già letto questo libro in italiano e mi era piaciuto tantissimo.E ho deciso di prendere una copia anche per un amico perchè offre una visione più ampia sul mondo dell’imprenditoria e sulla connessione che ha con il mondo interiore.

Despite Vishenâs initial disclaimer, this is unequivocally a business book. It delves into the intersection of spirituality, personal growth, and professional success. If youâre like the average person spending 70% of your waking hours at work, youâll find this book disruptive in the best way possible. Whether youâre a corporate professional, entrepreneur, or dreamer, this book will challenge your beliefs and empower you to create change.

This is a powerful book that will help you tap in your inner potential and help support you in your work, whether you are a senior business leader, a manager or an ambitious individual striving for success. It is an easy read and broken up into three parts:- Part 1 – Introduces you to the idea of the Soulprint and helps you uncover your foundational values- Part 2 – Delves deeper into the four elements of Deep Connections, Mastering Unfuckwithability, Making growth the Ultimate Goal and Choosing your Mission- Part 3 – Shows you how you can become a visionaryVishen uses the power of story very well. He inspires with his own story of the struggles he had and how the decisions he made changed the trajectory of his career and where Mindvalley is today. The book is not just focussed on him and gives several examples of other leaders and organisations and what he has learnt from them. Each chapter comes with its own tools, techniques, tactics and thought experiments. These are a very powerful aspect of the book. The book is not just about Vishen talking about himself and Mindvalley, he provides great frameworks and each chapter shows you how you can use these tools and techniques and apply them in your own setting. For example in Part 1 – The Origin Story Exercise to extract foundational values is very powerful and for business leaders, the power of a Manifesto and crafting a vivid vision is a great tool. Each chapter has great tools and techniques which Vishen had tested with his company with tremendous success and he provides an easy to understand mechanism to implement those ideas. If you have read the Code of the Extraordinary Mind, listened to Vishen on his podcasts, read his blog/social media posts, or taken some of his courses on Mindvalley then you will be familiar with some of the content of the book e.g. Means Goals vs End Goals, 3 Most Important Questions, 6-phase Meditation, being Unfuckwithable, Envisioning Techniques or Alpha/Theta/Delta/Gamma states. But this book is not rehashing those techniques. They are included as they have a clear space and they are explained in the context of work and organisation. The book is about leadership and there is so much in there. Many additional tools, techniques and ways of thinking. Concepts such as Idea sex, brain coupling, OODA – Observe-Orient-Decide-Act are just a few of the tools and techniques Vishen teaches.Vishen shares great learnings from his teachers like Srikumar Rao, Reverend Michael Beckwith, Lisa Nichols, Cameron Herold, Richard Branson, Bob Proctor, Naveen Jain just to name a few and all the great Mindvalley teachers and authors who have influenced how Vishen thinks and how he runs his organisation. This means that there are gems of information in each and every chapter and whilst they do not go into huge amounts of depth, they are able to spark ideas within and are great enablers to see the Buddha and Badass framework and how it can be leveraged.Whilst the book has frameworks that Senior Business Leaders would use and find incredibly useful, the same frameworks can be used by an individual for their own projects and ideas. The ideas in the book are disruptors and the more people who have this understanding and move away from their usual models of reality, belief systems or autopilot ways of viewing workplaces, the better. So if you are thinking that you don’t run a company and therefore don’t need these tools, these can help you with any aspect of your work and career and maybe help you find strategies to indirectly or directly influence what happens within your organisation through living these values yourself and being a radiant exemplar.
