    IPX waterproof rating.
The product is advertised as IPX8 but just a little contact with water made the earbuds start acting funny, connecting and disconnecting randomly, randomly one earbud stops working and once it starts working the other one stops working. This goes on for a few hours. The reviews that say these eaebuds are perfect for shower and swimming are simply fake, atleast that’s how they seem to me once I’ve used the product myself. These earbuds can barely survive a splash without acting funny. The only thing I gave two stars for is the noise cancellation and sound quality.

This is a good set of low cost earbuds. They are light, fit well, and work well. Some reviews mentioned the sensitivity of the touch buttons. I found that it worked well. Not having a physical button does make it easier to accidentally press, but I can hold the bud by the “stick”, or the sides and avoid pressing the button. Also, a single tap changes the volume, so if I do accidentally press it, it’s not too disruptive. The advantage of the touch button is that you’re not pushing the bud into your ear when you want to operate the button.Operating the button causes the earbud to beep to let you know that it got the command. The single tap (volume, answer call) and the long press (pause, resume) work well. The double tap (skip ahead, skip back) is more tricky to get the timing right. You can also triple tap for the phone assistant. The case works well. I like that it’s small and discreet. The magnetic lid shuts with a very satisfying snap. The buds also snap into place with magnets. Just opening and closing the case feels nice. There is a groove on the front that makes it easier to open. The case has 4 lights on the front, which is all that is needed to know the state of charge of the case. Plugging it it causes one of the LEDs to pulse until the case is fully charged. Every time you return a bud to the case the LEDs light up to show you the battery state. I find that I only need to charge the case about once every couple of weeks.I like that the case is an irregular shape: the front is slightly wider than the back. This, along with the groove, makes it easier to find the front to be able to open it. The symmetry does look nice, but I would have preferred just a bit more asymmetry to make it easier to find the side to open.I got these buds after my last set of Skull Candy buds stopped working when they got a bit wet. These buds have a very high water resistant rating, which is why I bought them. I don’t feel like testing that to the limit, but so far they have held up better than the Skull Candy buds.Update: I used these while playing on a splash pad with my kid. I got pretty soaked and so did the earbuds. They were unaffected! I would still be nervous immersing them I water, but these work great in a very wet environment. The sound quality is good. I mostly use these for listening to podcasts and not so much for music. The volume is loud enough, and as with most all earbuds, the range from treble to bass sounds good (as long as the bud is firmly in your ear). They also act as reasonable ear plugs to block out noise, even if not actively canceling the noise.Pairing works fairly quickly and fairly well. When you take the bud out of the case a voice says “power on”, then “pairing” and finally “connected” in a curious mix of British/American accents. Pairing time varies but can take from two to ten seconds. One issue with pairing is that if the bud is not in active use, it appears to turn off and disconnect. To reconnect, I need to put the bud back into the case and then take it out again. Maybe there’s a better way, but this works okay.I usually only use one earbud at a time for a few reasons: I can keep one ear open to the world, one bud can always be charging, and it gives my earhole time to air out.Single bud use works well, but you lose the ability to turn the volume down and to skip backwards, as these require two buttons. The USB C connector is great. It is more robust than the nano connector and reversible too.All in all, this is an excellent set of earbuds at an incredible low price.

These earbuds are an incredible value for the money; they meet my needs and quality criteria in every way, and the price is unbelievable!I’ve gone through countless Bluetooth headsets over the years; I use them pretty much all the time. Whether I’m riding a bike on a long group ride, working at my desk, or just going about my day, I usually have some sort of Bluetooth device either in, on, or around my ear(s). I’m also very active and rough on headsets. I’m a real estate broker and am on the phone all the time, day in, day out.I can be pretty rough on phones and headsets, and I had to redeem the warranty on “Tough-Tested” headsets so many times that I just gave up. I’ve also gone through several Dewalt Jobsite headsets. In Bluetooth headsets, I need long battery life, a good reliable microphone that won’t make me sound like I have a mouth full of chicken with a bag over my head, durability, strong water resistance and the ability to use either side separately or together. If I’m on the phone, I don’t need stereo, but if I’m listening to music I do.I use iPhones, so naturally, I bought AirPods. The battery life was horrible, and the sound quality wasn’t anything to write home about.I also own Jabra Elite Active as well as J-Lab true wireless headphones. Neither of them allow you to use the left earbud alone without the right, and the battery life sucks too! On top of that, no matter which silicone sizing cap I have on the Jabra, they invariably fall out of my ear. That makes them useless on a bike. All of the sets I’ve noted above cost over a hundred bucks per set. These earbuds, the N09 True Wireless Earbuds, however, have proven over the past month+ to outperform all of the others in every way, and they cost barely over ten bucks on sale!!!! Even if I had paid more I would still be writing this review and rating them highly.I’ve only had to charge the case once since I’ve owned them, and the battery life on the earbuds themselves have never given me any problems. As for the sound and voice quality, I think they are easily as good as all of the others at a fraction of the cost. They cannot nor should NOT be compared to over-the-ear big stereo headsets, they’re earbuds after all. If I want to listen to music with studio-quality sound, I’ll crank up my stereo with my JBL Studio C130 speakers. Those will shake the plaster off the walls and knock loose kidney stones too!For my everyday/all-day use, the N09 True Wireless Earbuds definitely meet my needs!

Let me preface by saying I am a professional audio engineer so I am acutely aware of the difference between good and bad sound quality. I didn’t expect these to sound phenomenal by any means but they definitely sound better than I was expecting considering how cheap they are. I just wanted something cheap to replace a pair of the awful Apple wired earbuds that used to come with iPhones and they sound vastly better than those, which isn’t saying much but for the price they sound pretty damn good and I am totally satisfied with what I wanted to use them for.The main problem I’ve found is that I believe the left one may be very slightly quieter or have a slightly different EQ curve compared to the right one. I’m not entirely sure if there is a flaw with the bud or if it just doesn’t fit in my ear as well at the right one. I do have more trouble making that side seal properly, I guess because of the shape of my ear, but I’m pretty sure it’s in there well enough that the phantom center shouldn’t be shifted slightly to the right the way it is. Either way, it’s not so bad that it bothers me too much, most people probably wouldn’t even notice it. I think I only noticed it because of my experience with audio and it took a few uses before I noticed it myself. The Bluetooth mostly has no problem pairing, though every once in a while one bud doesn’t connect. Just have to put it back in the case and take it out again and it syncs right up. And for some reason it seems like one will drop connection if I take them out and hold them in my hand for a minute, but this never happens when they’re in my ears. They are very comfortable and create a decent seal to block out noise. Battery life seems pretty good, though not as good as advertised I don’t think. The touch controls work fine although I wish the volume adjustment was like a swipe instead of a tap so you could control it with just one bud in and so you could make bigger changes more quickly. As it is, I tend to pause the music by going too fast when I’m trying to change the volume by more than one click.Anyway, very impressed for the price. I felt like they were such a good deal I got another pair for my wife. Hopefully they hold up over time.

I keep losing them but that’s on me- but the price of these is great and they produce good sound so definitely worth it
